Born to Rock
I remember the day I finished my first pond or should I say, backyard experiment. Little did I know that was the beginning of a career and my new calling. That first pond lit a match under my butt and I’ve been on fire ever since. That was 9 years ago and I can not imagine doing anything else. Pond life is my way of life. I see a boulder on the side of the road and that little spark starts up in my mind picturing where and how I can use it in one of my water features. Let’s face it. Rocks, ROCK!
I have always been a landscaper and have enjoyed growing tropical plants as a hobby for years. I always felt there was something missing from my landscape. It had color, texture, and style but was lacking movement and sound.
As a child who was raised in Southern Florida, I grew up exploring the natural waterways that surrounded me. Determined to bring a piece of Florida to San Diego I decided to start digging. The hole got bigger then longer. My rock pile was coming together and forming a familiar shape. It was a momentous occasion when I finally hooked up the pump and watched the water rise up and cascade over the boulders. Success! I created my ideal environment. It had all the elements I was looking for and I finally felt at home.
